Ultrafire tactical flashlight is solid

This is my second Ultrafire flashlight and it's excellent like the first one. Only this one is single function. No bells and whistles, no multi-light settings. Just on and off. At the tail of the light. There's also no focal adjustments. It's just a practical, bright light. That shines a long way and keeps excellent beam integrity while doing it. And it comes with a lanyard you can attach if you want. As far as how much charge it has left, a small LED light above the charging port comes on briefly when you turn the light on. Green, yellow or red. Flashing red when critical. When charging, it goes from red to green. It also comes with a real marvel and surprise. Another light in true EDC fashion. A keychain light with three modes and a tiny little digital percentage LED readout of how much energy it has left. Two brightness levels and on the third click, a strobe. It's so small, but so darned powerful and capable! Very much like the other EDC light I got from them. So anyway, what a treat to get that light with the bigger power-beam flashlight. Which is bigger than the small ones I have several of, but smaller than the normal large flashlights, if that makes sense. The case is aircraft aluminum and has some nice machining on it to allow you to get a good grip on it. The charging ports of both lights are waterproofed with a silicone cover and take the usual USB-C plug. And they included one for each light. The main light is waterproof to two meters and impact resistant at one meter. Considering the two light combo and the performance of each, I think this set is an excellent value.

I think the battery life is a feature, not a flaw

The media could not be loaded.
I don't know about you, but if my flashlight doesn't have 13 or 14 or 15 modes that I'll never use and I'm not a happy camperOf course I'm being sarcastic. I hate when a flashlight has more than two modes because they're never used and I always have to cycle through them to get to the mode that I want to get the unit to turn off and it really irritates me. It bothers me because it also allows the sellers to put something like "15 in one flashlight" or something equally stupid. You do not have to worry about that with this. It has an on button which doubles as an off button. That is it.I'm a huge fan of that. The next thing I'd like to mention that I love is the little flashlight that comes with this.I'm in love with this little flashlight. It's got a nice display on it, which tells you the exact percentage of the battery, which is kind of important for something that you keep on your keychain because you never know if you need to charge it or not. Just being able to tap it once and see how much battery you have left will easily help you know when you need to charge it.Unfortunately the little one has multiple modes but it's done very tastefully. You can hold the button and change from warm light to cool light or you can press it and get a flashing strobe light, which I guess is not that horrible of a feature to have but if you ask me nobody ever uses that eitherNow the thing about the battery life that I don't really understand is why somebody would be disappointed in a 2.5-hour lifespan of an extremely high beamIf you ask me, being able to turn on a flashlight and get full use for two and a half hours straight, that, to me, is a feature that you're not going to find in a lot of flashlights. That's unheard of. On top of it if you happen to get 12 more hours of a beam that gradually dims, that is also a feature and should not be viewed as a flaw. That's made well if you ask me. Think about that. You get 2.5 hours of 100% fully-on all the way high beam... You couldn't do that with hardly any devices these days. A flashlight two hours is unheard of. The fact that you get an extra 10 to 12 hours afterwards where it's still staying on but dimming? That's brilliant! In fact as it starts to dim now, you know you got to charge it. It's like an indicator.Anybody that says otherwise, I don't think, is really thinking it through. I refuse to think of that as a flaw and if you ask me, I would give it six stars because of that.I have some seriously expensive flashlights and some seriously powerful flashlights that I didn't pay a lot for but are every bit as powerful as they claim to be. I don't think I could run any one of them for two and a half hours straight on high. Yes they're much more powerful than this flashlight but I'm not getting two hours out of them, I promise you. Much less 10 or 12 hours. Don't get me wrong, I have some flashlights that will go that long but they're primarily batteries with an LED attached to them as opposed to an LED powered by a battery, if you catch my driftAnyway it comes with everything it needs, just like any other flashlight, so I won't really bother talking about the cables or any of that nonsense. It's a flashlight and that's the only thing you care about. It works and it's one button for on and the same button for off. No modes in between. You cannot focus it but the way the beam comes out I think you don't really need to. You get a beam as well as a flood so I don't think you really need to worry about focusing it.I couldn't be happier with this flashlight. I really couldn't. The fact that it comes with a cute little itty-bitty cute-as-a-bug's-ear flashlight is just icing and gravy on top. Sometimes I like gravy on my icing, so what? I'm not some weirdo that likes icing on my gravy. I just like gravy on my icing. So what?

Good as a spotlight, but not for wide area coverage

I would like to begin by saying that I was pleasantly surprised to receive a mini flashlight along with the primary flashlight that I ordered. The little keychain EDC flashlight works pretty well for its size. I have a few other EDC flashlights of a similar size that are brighter, but this one has casing that is made out of metal. I don’t need it to be blindingly, bright, and that’s what my other flashlights are for, so this mini flashlight serves its purpose well. It provides enough light to see in dimly lit areas, and it will definitely help you find the keyhole in the dark. The LW20X flashlight is just OK. I personally feel like it is overpriced for what you’re actually getting. There’s no option to adjust the beam width, so you are left with only a very narrow beam to be used as a spotlight. There is some bleeding of light in a larger circumference, but not so much that it would be enough to see well. Another downside is that while the little EDC flashlight has a digital LCD screen to show the battery percentage, the bigger flashlight does not. Instead, it uses a single LED light that emits different colors based on the battery percentage range. We honestly should have a digital display rather than just a single LED dot.Another downside to this flashlight is that it is only 500 lumens. Yes, the narrow beam will allow you to project those 500 lumens further out, but for a flashlight of this size and price, I would have expected it to be 1000 lumens or more. It still works decently well, but there is so much more potential that they left on the table. At least it’s constructed well with the good quality materials. It is definitely durable and will last you quite some time.Overall, I can’t really say that I recommend the LW20X. For a few bucks more, you can get a much more powerful flashlight with features that they failed to include on this model. The only saving grace, and the only reason I gave it three stars instead of two, is because of the little EDC flashlight that they threw in for free. This flashlight has been weighed, it has been measured, and it has left me wanting of something more.
