Q1 : Que se passe-t-il si ma nouvelle lampe de poche présente un défaut ou ne fonctionne pas correctement ?
last light fades. the trail doesn't.
Find the trail the dark is hiding.
Sweep the beam across the forest floor and follow the blood. Then switch to a standard 395nm light and try again.
Blood marks found

Simulation for illustration. Real results vary with terrain, how old the blood is, and ambient light.
Why the trail looks clearer
-
Less purple glare
Standard 395nm lights throw visible purple light that washes out the ground. The ZWB2 filter on the C15S blocks it, so the blood stands out and you aren't squinting through a purple haze.
-
More ground in every sweep
A 16W 365nm emitter lights a wider patch at once. You cover more leaves per pass and miss fewer drops.
-
Reach without crowding
A deep reflector throws the beam out ahead, so you can scan from a safe distance instead of hovering over every leaf.
-
Steady through a long search
Constant-current delivery holds output steady, so the light you have at the end of the night is the one you started with.
Wherever the trail goes
-
Timber and leaf litter
Blood on oak leaves and duff is easy to walk past. Sweep low and the marks stand out against the ground.
-
Creek banks and rocks
Wet rock and gravel hide drops and smears. Check the boulders, logs, and banks the animal brushed past.
-
Field edges and stubble
Follow the trail out of cover and along the edge, where drops thin out and get easy to lose.
-
After dark
Most recoveries run past sundown. Use the C15S to find the sign and your white light to walk the line.
Working a blood trail with the C15S
Start at the last sign
Go back to the last blood you're sure of, or to where the animal stood when you shot, and begin there.
Sweep low and wide
Hold the light low and sweep side to side, working ahead of the last mark in the direction the animal ran.
Mark every drop
Flag or tape each spot. The line of marks shows where the animal is headed and gives you a place to back up to.
Switch lights to move
When you know the direction, use your white light to walk the line. Go back to the C15S when the drops get sparse.

Useful off the trail too
365nm UV also helps you hunt scorpions, inspect fluorescing rocks and minerals, spot pet stains, find leaks in pipes and HVAC, and cure UV resin.
Don't lose the trail.

UV light can harm your eyes. Never shine it at your own or anyone else's face.
