At UltraFire, we design our UV flashlights to reveal what standard lights leave in the dark. Recently, a passionate lapidary artist and rockhound named Jim Hale reached out to share exactly how our gear is making a difference in the field.

Jim is currently a participant in the "Flashy" Theme Cabochon Contest hosted by the Rock Tumbling Hobby Forum. To showcase the true fluorescence of his custom-cut stone, he used the UltraFire ZV-254nm UV flashlight. As Jim noted, many impressive stones in the competition struggled to show their full potential due to low-quality filters in standard UV lights.

We were incredibly inspired by the craftsmanship and enthusiasm of this community. While voting is still underway to determine the actual champion of the event, we decided this was a contest worth supporting. That is why UltraFire is officially stepping in as a sponsor!

To celebrate the art of rock tumbling and lapidary work, we will be awarding a brand-new UltraFire ZV-254nm UV Flashlight to the final winner of the competition.

We love seeing our tools put to work by true professionals and dedicated hobbyists. If you want to see some amazing lapidary work and check out the active contest entries, you can view the voting thread right here: https://forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/110165/voting-cabochon-contest-theme-flashy

Keep hunting, keep polishing, and never settle for a dull light.
